Robert Feldtman, MD, FACS

Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon
On April 1, 2021, Dr. Feldtman retired after 48 years of caring for patients with cardiovascular needs. Dr. Feldtman's patients can continue to see the other surgeons at DFW Vascular Group who will be able to carry on with their care. The practice can also provide any patient their records upon request.
Dr Feldtman trained at UTMB, then surgery at Lackland AFB 1972-77. Subsequent cardiac training with Drs. DeBakey and Crawford at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston 1981-82. He established the cardiac surgery program at Memorial City in Houston and was Assistant Professor of Surgery at UT Houston Medical School. Did vascular surgery at the VA facility in Temple Texas and Scott and White in Temple, attaining the rank of Full Professor of Surgery at Texas A&M Medical School. Since 2009 Dr Feldtman has been doing both cardiac and vascular surgery at Methodist Dallas Medical Center with DFW Vascular Group.
He is a retired USAFR Col with 30 yrs in uniform, having served during Viet Nam and Desert Storm operations. He has been providing cardiovascular care to Texans for 48 years. He is Board certified in Vascular Surgery by the American Board of Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Feldtman continues to serve as a member of the FAA Cardiology Panel advising about cardiovascular problems in pilots and has done that for 22 years. He also is a commercial pilot with 3000 hrs as pilot in command and an extra class amateur radio operator.
